Summary[]
Amon yells at Musashi for continuing to beat Inshun even after he is knocked unconscious whilst screaming 'I won!'.
The story then goes back to the day Insun's (formerly known as Shinnosuke) mother was raped and murdered by a rogue swordsman. After hearing the screams, Mitsuda comes running yelling both his son's and wife's names. He meets the rogue swordsman and both duel. The two stab one another in the chest and fall to the forest floor.
Meanwhile, Inei forgot to give Mitsuda his pickles and he begins to walk through the forest to Mitsuda's home. He stumbles upon a Shinnosuke sitting quietly beside the bodies of his mother, father and the rogue swordsman. In shock, Inei hugs Shinnosuke and adopts Shinnosuke as his own; now calling him the name Inshun Hozoin.
In the present, Inshun's spirit questions what it is to be strong. He states how he wanted to risk his life and duel in mortal combat as a way to prove he was invincible but it was truly only to conceal the trauma of his past. Inshun concludes that he wants to live.
