The Yoshioka-ryū (吉岡流) is a martial arts sword style created by Yoshioka Kempo. The sword style is taught at the Yoshioka school (吉岡騒然, Yoshioka Sōzen) in Kyoto which was created by Yoshioka Kempo as well.
Plot[]
After the death of Yoshioka Kempo, the school was given to the eldest son, Seijuro Yoshioka and he became the head although, Yoshioka Kempo's second son, Denshichiro would have been more responsible and a better fit in general.
Yoshioka School arc[]

When Musashi visits the Yoshioka School and fights multiple of the students in order to be able to later be able to fight Seijuro, the insides of the school were mildly damaged. When Matahachi finds out that his friend Musashi was fighting the Yoshioka, Matahachi sets the school on fire and caused a lot of damage. In order to prevent the fire from spreading, the students were ordered by Seijuro to start tearing it down. Matahachi was later wanted by the Yoshioka for burning the school down and Matahachi tries to hide from the Yoshioka to avoid being persecuted. When he visits his wife Oko, Oko kicks him out since the members of the Yoshioka were customers at her brothel.
Second Yoshioka arc[]
When Musashi revisits Kyoto, he fights and kills Seijuro. Seijuro was a renowned swordsman and his death resulted in the school's reputation to go down. After the death of Seijuro, Denshichiro becomes the head of the school. Denshichiro duels Musashi and is killed which only lowers the reputation of the school even further. After Denshichiro's death Ueda becomes the head of the school. Ueda and 70 other students attempt to kill Musashi to save the school's reputation. Musashi kills all 70 of the students and Ueda. Since majority of the students and Ueda lost his eyes, the school loses it's high standing.
